Tim Megan started playing the clarinet at age 10 and hasn't stopped since. Thanks to the support of his wonderful parents, (financial and otherwise), he was able to procure an instrument, secure good music instruction and hone his skills through his childhood and early adult years. During high school, he participated in All-District Band for 3 years and played 1st Clarinet in the Massachusetts All-State Band his senior year.

Tim graduated from the University of Hartford's Hartt College of Music with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. After several years teaching instrumental music in public school, he acquired a Master's Degree in performance (clarinet) from the University of Massachusetts. He continues to teach to this day.

Tim started his polka playing career with the Sound-A-Bouts Orchestra of Pelham, New Hampshire. He recorded his first album and performed with the group from 1984-85.

He then joined the Happy Louie and Julcia Orchestra of Palmer, Massachusetts in 1986 and performed with the group until Louie's retirement in 1997.
During that time, the group performed extensively from Maine to Maryland, Massachusetts to Michigan and recorded and released 4 (soon to be 5) albums. Louie and Julcia's CD Your Polka Sweethearts was nominated for a Grammy in 1995.

Tim currently lives in Haverhill, Massachusetts with his darling, delightful wife Pam and their Kit Kat Acorn, best cat in the world.
